I’m proud of this new recording. Been chipping away at it over the last couple of years. I’m happy with how it’s taken shape and how it sounds. I’d describe it as an auteurist multi-genre album with a premise: “If you’re not appearing, you’re disappearing.” This apocryphal quote from jazz drummer Art Blakey has been swimming around in my head for a long time. It certainly rings true to me as the lived words of a working musician. Beyond that, one can’t help but consider the true act of disappearing…
